The Sierra Leone Country Programme of Heifer International was launched on Thursday 24th April 2008. Heifer International is a US based non-profit organisation that works in partnership with resource poor communities to alleviate hunger, poverty and environmental degradation.
Heifer International combats hunger and poverty by providing livestock and training to small-scale farmers worldwide. Along with gifts of livestock, we help communities develop sustainable agriculture while improving the environment and strengthening communities.
Heifer's proven approach to international development has helped in promoting strong communities, sustainability, environmental protection, education and peace.
